- Step 1: Place a fold in the fabric by turning the raw edge under 1/2" and then again to the width of your desired hem.
- Step 2: Working on the wrong side of the fabric, bring the needle up through the folded edge.
- Step 3: Insert the needle into the body of the skirt, picking up just a few threads of fabric before bringing the needle back out again.
- Step 4: Insert the needle into the folded edge of the fabric, slide it secretly through the fold, and then bring it out again a few inches later.
- Step 5: Repeat the process around the hem of the skirt.
